BMUG is pleased to announce an agreement with Software Tool and Die of Brookline, MA, owners of The World, to provide full internet connections on World at a special rate for our members.
The World, founded in 1989, is a commercial internet provider running on a UNIX host.
Members who join World will have access to all Internet Services including: Mail, Telnet, FTP, the entire collection of Newsgroups, Gopher, Archie, and Internet Relay Chat — to name a few.
Rates
All BMUG members will receive one free hour of online access each month. Additional online time is available at the special BMUG membership rates as described below.
Basic Rate Plan
After the initial one free hour, a $5 monthly account fee is charged and an additional 2.5 hours is included. Usage beyond the total 3.5 hours is charged at the ordinary World rates of $2 per hour. Basic rate accounts include a .5MB of disk storage.
20/20 Plan
For high volume customers, the 20/20 Plan offers 25 hours per month for $20. Usage beyond the total 25 hours is $1 per hour. 20/20 Plan accounts include 2MB of disk storage. All 20/20 Plans require pre-payment and the hours purchased must be used during each month.
These rates are available for Current as well as New Accounts on The World.
BMUG Memberships
In order to take advantage of this special rate you must be a full BMUG member, not just a BBS member.
A BBS member can upgrade for $15, and get two newsletters -- the current Spring issue and the next one (Fall 1993). But the renewal date will be at the time of the original $25 sign-up.
Information on how to upgrade will be found in the Upgrade Membership Folder above..
We hope you'll join us as we travel — Around The World.
